  "Bob's 10 C(oh man)D(men)S"
or On My Turntable - March, 2002

1. Morel "Queen Of The Highway"Morel "Queen Of The Highway"

The best record I have heard in the past 10 years, hands down. I can't stop crying when I listen to "Mean Time", and "Over" is the pop song of the decade, built around the line "all of my dreams of love and affection are over." Richard is one of the sweetest people I've ever met, which only makes me love it that much more. Can't recommend it enough.

2. Swayzak "Himawari"Swayzak "Himawari"

A very close second. It's a Summer 2000 release that my friend Mark C spun at the FDNY benefit in November, and I remember dropping whatever I was doing so I could find out what it was. Cool chillin' kinda grooves that work anytime of the day or night.

3. Daft Punk "Discovery"Daft Punk - Discovery

My latest guilty pleasure. This has been out for a while as well, but it's so damn catchy and upbeat, how can you not crank it on the highway? A gym we go to in Atlanta played "Harder Better..." every day at the same exact time, I felt like I was in the movie Groundhog Day.

4. Various Artists "Compost 100"Various Artists "Compost 100"

A neat label out of Munich, very diverse group of artists. A neat entry point for people who aren't familiar with this label. Some smart stuff here.

5. BT "R&R"BT "R&R"

I like this one in the car as well, but not unles I'm moving really fast and free - pretty aggressive stuff, these mixes. Lots of high production going on, sometimes too much to absorb, but very original.

6. Her Space Holiday "Manic Expressive"Her Space Holiday "Manic Expressive"

Come early, and see them for yourselves on the COLAS tour. I'm thrilled that Marc and Keely are along for the ride, it will add so much to the evenings.

7. Charles Webster "Born On The 24th Of July"Charles Webster "Born On The 24th Of July"

Very soulful, spacious, leaves a lot of room for you to wander around inside.

8. Zero 7 "Simple Things"

Very 60's, very chilled, a nice little soundtrack to enjoy life by. Fire it up, cook some dinner for your friends, and relax.

9. Beluah "The Coast Is Never Clear"Beluah "The Coast Is Never Clear"

Indie rock at its finest. Interesting stories, smart lyrics, a wide variety of classy production touches. I go back to this record quite often.

10. Paul Van Dyk "The Politics Of Dancing"Paul Van Dyk "The Politics Of Dancing"

I've been a longtime fan of PVD, and this is a hyped-up set that's perfect for moving your ass on the dance floor or the gym. And, it has a great mix of my other guilty pleasure of the season, Iio's "Rapture". The high-quality trance you always get with PVD.
